Solivita October Arts Calendar: What’s Still Ahead

Solivita’s October Art Gallery calendar still has a full lineup of creative activities ahead, even though the calendar labels the Art Gallery itself as temporarily closed. From swing-band rehearsals and open studio time to basket weaving, quilting and art classes, residents have several ways to stay involved during the second half of the month. Because some activities have temporary rooms or conflicting notes, confirm the latest details before leaving home.

Thursday Music and Open Studio

The calendar lists the Solivita Swing Band from 9 a.m. to noon and Open Studio from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays, October 15, 22 and 29. These back-to-back daytime activities offer two different ways to take part: residents can enjoy the community’s musical side in the morning and return to individual creative work in the afternoon. The venue calendar does not clearly settle every temporary location, so check with Solivita Activities before attending.

Friday Basket Weaving and Quilting

Basket Weaving is listed from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays, October 16, 23 and 30. The calendar note says the group was moved to the Aegean Room while the Art Gallery is closed. The Solivita Quilters Club follows from 12:30 to 4:15 p.m. on the same dates. Since the relocation note originated before this October calendar was prepared, residents should verify the current room, especially if it will be their first visit.

Saturday Artisan Guild Classes

Solivita Artisan Guild classes appear from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, October 17, 24 and 31. The source marks these as non-reserved group activities, which means the listing alone should not be treated as a guaranteed seat or drop-in invitation. Confirm the class topic, room, availability and any materials to bring directly with the organizer or Solivita Activities.

Monday and Tuesday Art Options

Arts & Crafts Unlimited is listed from 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays, October 19 and 26. Intermediate/Advanced Acrylics also appears on those dates from 1 to 4:15 p.m., but its room note mentions a different 4:30 p.m. time in the Ceramics Gallery. On Tuesdays, October 20 and 27, watercolor classes are listed from 9:30 a.m. to noon, while another note references different timing and a move to the second-floor classroom at Riviera Spa & Fitness. Karaoke is listed from 2:30 to 9:30 p.m. with a note pointing to the Ceramics Gallery. These conflicts make advance confirmation especially important for Monday and Tuesday plans.

Confirm Before You Go

The October document is an Art Gallery venue calendar, not a complete schedule of everything happening in Solivita. For the latest room assignments, start times, reservation requirements and cancellations, contact the Solivita Activities department at 863-427-7125 or SolivitaActivities@CastleGroup.com. The listed office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., above the Bistro Cafe in the Village Center. Residents can also review the official Solivita online calendar before attending.

A Creative Month Continues

The temporary gallery closure has not removed creativity from the calendar. With music, fiber arts, studio time and art classes still listed through October 31, residents can find an activity that fits their interests while giving themselves one extra step: verify the current room and status before heading out.
