Preparing Your Florida Home For Spring

We’ve all heard it, “April Showers bring May Flowers”.

Well here we are, smack dab in the middle of April, in what is usually sunny Florida. On the bright side, every storm runs out of rain eventually, leaving a beautiful rainbow and blooming life in its wake. But, what about your home? Have you prepared for the gallons of water that will be dumped upon your house this Spring? In his article “Preparing Your Home For Spring”, Andrew Penner mentions a few aspects of your home to take an extra look at.

  1.  Gutters
  2.  Wood Trim and Caulking Around Windows, Doors, Railings, and Decks
  3.  Roof Shingles, Flashing, and Caulking
  4.  Outside Faucets
  5.  Clean and Service Outside A/C System

As a homeowner, you probably already know that there are many more maintenance jobs that your home will require over the years. Hiring maintenance crews to do your “dirty work” (literally) for you can get pricey. There are many do-it-yourself (DIY) projects that can be done inexpensively, and you can even get the entire family involved.
